Ziegler carpets are knotted in Pakistan using traditional techniques from Arak in Persia. The British company Ziegler started manufacturing these carpets for the European market in the 1870's. The patterns are often copied from Persian carpets. Ziegler carpets are made using natural dyes and superior quality hand spun wool. The carpets are stone washed and bleached in the sun to achieve the distinct antique finish look they are known and appreciated for.
